Was that even a movie? It seemed to be one long action sequence. I wasn't even 100% sure who Max was until the end of the movie when he says "My name is Max". Who was the actor? I have never seen or heard of him before. He seemed just another scruffy male lead with a Brit accent that they stick in these films either because all the old standard actors are too played out or won't lower themselves to these nonsensical remakes of classics that should be left as they are. If this is a great movie, then film is dead. Clearly, this is some new genre of entertainment. An art form ? I don't know... I don't think so.... More like pointless nonsense... I wanted to get up and leave but I kept hoping it would turn into a movie. The kid, Nub, was the best part of the film and he was far from fully developed. In fact the 2 high points of the film were where Max brought him the boot and where Nux sacrificed himself for the girls... As for Furiousa ... Lame ...Why? Why even bother with her? What was her motivation again? Who was she? Sure I enjoyed the little homages to the original, the music box the boomerang, otherwise it had zero relation to The Road Warrior. And let me get this straight: he's out in the wasteland surviving unsurvivable situations 6 times over and yet he finds a bunch of hot runway models in the desert who would have been WAY safer staying where they were ...and where exactly was Fury Road ? I never saw a road of any kind. What was the refinery in the distance that resembled Oz ... Dumb dumb dumb ... Dreck the whole mess ...

The title "Focus" had potential among the quantitatively declining Con- Artist genre. Although brilliantly centered and set up with a decent cast and setting - the execution of intelligent criminal activity was poor and often justifying or explaining trickery and illusion as "he's just so good at it." - failing to satisfy the audience with an insight into the brilliance that is a con-centered plan.

I love heist movies. I love intricate con movies. I love crime movies and I'm sad to say this doesn't really come close to fitting anywhere between those genres best and brightest. Movie Reviews : Far from the Madding Crowd (2015) HD

Greetings again from the darkness. If you have read Thomas Hardy's 1874 novel or seen director John Schlesinger's 1967 (and far more energetic) screen adaption starring Julie Christie, or even if you are a High School Literature student with the novel on your summer reading list, you will probably be interested in this more modern-day thinking approach from director Thomas Vinterberg (The Hunt). It's more modern not in look, but rather in the feminist perspective of Bathsheba Everdene (one of my favorite literary character names).

Carey Mulligan plays Ms. Everdene, and she is exceedingly independent and ambitious for the time period, while simultaneously being attractive in a more timeless manner. This rare combination results in three quite different suitors. She first meets sheep farmer Gabriel Oak (Matthias Schoenaerts, Rust and Bone), who is smitten with her spunk, and he proposes by offering her way out of poverty. She declines and the next time they cross paths, the tables have turned as she has inherited a farm and he has lost everything due to an untrained sheep dog. Next up is a proposal from a socially awkward, but highly successful neighborhood farmer. Michael Sheen plays William Boldwood, who is clueless in his courting skills, but understands that combining their farms would be a make-sense partnership. The third gent is Sergeant Francis Troy (Tom Sturridge), a master of seduction by sword. She is sucked in by Troy's element of danger, unaware of his recent wedding gone awry to local gal Fanny Robbin (Juno Temple).

As with most literary classics … and in fact, most books … the screen adaptation loses the detail and character development that make the book version so enjoyable. Still, we understand the essence of the main characters, and the actors each bring their own flavor to these roles. The story has always been first and foremost a study in persistence, and now director Vinterberg and Mulligan explore the modern day challenges faced by women in selecting a mate: slow and steady, financially set, or exciting and on edge. In simpler language, should she follow her head, wallet or heart?

"I had sex today. Holy sh--!" Minnie (Bel Powley) 

If you have a daughter around 15, may I suggest you see The Prophet, a wispy cartoon about a philosopher and his devoted town, because Diary of a Teen Age Girl will set you off balance for days. Oh, although it has cartoons, they include flaccid and erect penises. Still in all, it can be an amusing insight into a teen's secret life, and by extension, all teens'.

Minnie, a San-Francisco teen having an affair with her mom's (Kristen Wiig) vacuous35-year old lover, Monroe (Alexander Skarsgard), is sexually alert and ready. Although her affair causes her some trauma as she faces the emotional consequences, she is less affected by the other casual liaisons of all kinds in her relentless search to emulate the adults in her life but only to find the search as hollow as she sees it in them.

Her idol is cartoonist Aline Kominsky, whose work is similar to Minnie's. The insertion of graphic, amusing cartoons helps relieve the depressing descent of Minnie into rampant sex with diminishing returns. As a true coming-of-age film, Diary of a teen age Girl is more about the girl morphing into a woman (she has the body but not the sensibility) through some dark but sometimes humorous encounters.

As a father of five daughters, I shuddered at some of the all-to-real encounters, but, hey, the film is about the '70's in San Francisco when anything goes. If you strip away the liberal life style, the issues for a teen remain universal: How much can you rely on your parents for guidance? Do adults exploit children? Is same sex sex a kick? Do drugs help? Another question might be asked: Why does Monroe not go to jail for statuary rape? Answer: This film is a fantasy of a teen's first sex, and the rude outside world need not apply to be a part. It's all a cartoon dream and humorous if you take it the right way.

This is a great movie experience.

Feeling trapped in her college freshman year experience, Tracy calls and visits her soon-to-be sister Brooke. (Their parents are about to get married.) Tracy becomes more confident and self-assured during the course of her interaction with the lively Brooke. But even though Brooke is Tracy's inspiration, Brooke has not found a way to successfully live her own life.

The movie has so much more richness and depth than its basic plot. The other characters are very well drawn, and include Tony, a college buddy who relates to Tracy's loser self; Tony's comically possessive girlfriend, Nicolette; Brooke's old boyfriend Dylan, who is excited by Brooke's passion but understands her fundamental limitations, and Dylan's wife Mamie Claire, who was once Brooke's close friend and feels threatened by Brooke on multiple levels. Even minor characters play an important role: Someone who only knew Brooke in middle school and approaches her at a restaurant, providing piercing insight into Brooke's flawed psyche; Mamie Claire's pregnant visitor, who, like a member of a Greek chorus, observes and comments on the proceedings.

Throughout the movie, lines zing by to reinforce the movie's themes, like…

Tracy saying in a voice over that Brooke "has a face that makes you feel more pretty." That is, Tracy feels better and actually becomes better being around Brooke.

When tutoring Algebra, Brooke says "x can be anything, you can't pin it down," revealing as much about herself as about the properties of x.

This film tells the story of three parents, and their four teenage children who live chaotic lives in New York.

I didn't think I would like "Ten Thousand Saints" at first because their world is so different from mine. The father, played by Ethan Hawke, is an irresponsible parent beyond imagination. He even shares illegal drugs with his son, which is really beyond me. Yet, soon afterwards the characters grow on me and I care much about their well-being and happiness. Hailee Steinfeld's character as a pregnant teenager really stands out, the things she has to go through is tough even for an adult. The scene that she confides that she does not remember what Teddy looks like is quite breathtaking.

"Ten Thousand Saints" has great character development, and an captivating story to go with it. I certainly hope there will be a happy ending for the children in the untold future.

This movie seems to be in the like it or hate it categorie. I personally didn't like it. I just found it to be a very dry and boring watch. The plot is just super flat and very narrow. It also doesn't really have that shock or suspenseful factor that I was looking forward to. I was constantly waiting for this movie to get better and it does for the last 20 minutes which I thought was slightly above mediocre. But it was such a drag to get to that 20 minutes and even then it's not worth it. I will say the kid actors in this movie seem like real kids and not actors. And the constant banter between the two seemed real, but it isn't something fun to sit through nor listen to. Overall, it's a pass. I give it a 3, because of the well done cinematography despite it not being a mainstream movie. I guess some viewers like it because of the vibe and black humor, but it didn't work for me.
